Cora Environment Launches REhub for its Flagship Initiative: School Recycling League

6 October 2025

• 100 REhubs will be rolled out across participating schools in the School Recycling League to drive stronger recycling action

• The first REhub was unveiled at Mee Toh School as part of NEA’s Clean & Green Singapore satellite event

Singapore, 6 October 2025 – Cora Environment launched its first REhub for its flagship initiative, Cora School Recycling League (League) today. The launch event, held at Mee Toh School, is organised in partnership with National Environment Agency (NEA) as the first of four Clean & Green Singapore satellite events, and was graced by Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Ms Goh Hanyan.

REhub, a smart recycling hub, tracks and reports recycling activities in real time, providing schools with valuable data-backed insights linked to recycling volume and usage patterns of each school cohort group. This enables schools to design targeted initiatives aimed at building lasting recycling habits for staff and students alike. Each recycling hub is equipped with smart sensors that will notify Cora Environment when capacity reaches 80 percent, preventing the occurrence of overflowing bins while enhancing operational efficiency through optimised collection schedules.

To date, Cora Environment has deployed 10 REhubs across community spaces and shopping malls island-wide, and will be rolling out 100 recycling hubs across schools by the end of 2025. Mee Toh School is the first school to pilot a REhub in recognition of its achievement as a 2024 Gold Award recipient of the League.

As part of the launch event, Primary 5 Mee Tohians were given an opportunity to join SPS Ms Goh Hanyan and Cora Environment Group CEO Mr Lee Kok Kin for an engaging fireside chat. The Primary 3 cohort also had the chance to showcase their imaginative upcycled art creations with the VIPs.

The League is an annual recycling programme for schools, launched by Cora Environment in 2023. Since its inception, the programme has engaged over 400 schools. The League aims to educate students about the importance of good recycling habits and inculcate a culture of environmental responsibility from a young age.

The pilot launch of REhub at Mee Toh School marks a new step forward under the League in supporting the nation’s green ambition to reduce landfill waste, and nurturing generations of the future to embrace sustainability and recycling.

Mr Lee Kok Kin, Group CEO of Cora Environment said: “The launch of REhub is more than just an upgraded way of doing recycling; it symbolises people of all ages in our community coming together to build a more sustainable future for their own generation, and future generations to come.”
